Hey there my Joker friends
I love it here. It seems like every trip report I read there are winning or
Break even trips. And I am happy about it. Except I am not one of them. I would
Say out of every 10 trips with about a 400 bank roll I leave down or bust probably 8 of those time.
I play the all the slots. I do get some play most times.
Maybe it's a bad spell. Is my bank roll too small?. How are you a jokers doing in 2015? Anyone try a winners bank? I just
Bought one. HHH.

I am going to use that baby next weekend at the borgata. I am going to see the Hooters in their new concert park. Anyway continued success my friends. Cheers!

I've had dry spells that would make the CA drought look like a monsoon so don't feel bad. Like a friend of mine always says, "they call it gambling, not winning". Hang in there your time is coming.

Great response. I was feeling a little "loser-y" but you reply makes me feel less loser-y. Thanks buddy.
I will get them this weekend. I still love Atlantic city anyways.:playball:

Good luck.

I've figured out a fair average when it comes to local casinos here in PA. I say 1 in 20 times I may walk out a winner. Everyone loses more than they win, if not, they are definitely fibbing to you!

That's a very true statement. But I enjoy slotting win or lose. Would rather win of course. :nerd:

I've only had 2 winning Vegas trips. All the rest are losers. So about 18 losers. Same with Reno/ tahoe. Fortunately my Vegas wins were recent.

if you look at the TR's that are running right now at this moment, there is a lot of winning. Again,
I love the Jokers winning, I just thought I was a mush. Thanks for the honesty. I would love to read some of your old trip reports too.

I lose WAY more than I win.. but I'm only excited to share the winning. I haven't had a winning Vegas trip in at least 3 trips. I lucked out (and I readily admit it) after digging myself in a deep hole last week chasing a progressive. Got Lucky.. but it could have ended really UGLY with a 600 deficit.

Agree with everyone- we all like to talk about the wins, winning trips, jackpots, etc.
I have had plenty of losing trips, and those don't get any pictures, trip reports, or even mentions.

Occasionally, I get on a real nice winning streak where I go several trips where I win- but that's not normal, sometimes it just happens, and it can and will. In between though it can be brutal.

My Vegas trips tend to be especially brutal.

That trip was a winner! But like I said , ,I've had many losers. Been going since machines were mostly reels. Never won on those in Vegas. My only reels trip win was in Reno. Along time ago.

I feel you on that. I tried VP at the bar at the golden nugget last weekend. I kind of enjoyed it.
Free drinks were a plus. I just need the discipline to keep playing even when a few hands don't go my way. What's the best

You can go to Freeslots.com (enroll for free) to learn vp. They offer a "trainer" on all of the different vp games. Personally, I think that all newbies should first learn "Jacks or Better" because it is what most other different poker games are based on. I know that once after I had learned J.o.B. I wanted to branch out to a more exciting game to play. My choice was/still is "Double-Double Bonus". Good Luck!

I can honestly say that 90 percent of each outing, that I am ahead at some point, usually with in the first hour of play. But who wants to leave after driving over an hour or more just to get there, and then win a little and immediately stop playing and drive all the way back home?

I am a degenerate gambler, and if I am ahead I just bet larger to try and win even more, but end up losing all I have won and usually much more. I have an average of losing 3 out of every 4 trips.

Hey Slotdude, went to my local tonight and after last nights winning trip tonight was colder than freezing re: hits. Dropped $100 in 15 minutes playing $1 per spin on reels. Best win $20, once. Otherwise $10 once and a couple $5 dollar wins and nothing else. Saw a floor mgr. on our way out and he wanted to know where we were going? I told him how cold the machines were and he just said some nights are like that. He knew. I played several machines and everybody claimed to be having the same luck as me.

It sounds like that floor manager didn't want you to leave? I'll bet that (in his mind) he was thinking that you should stay and spend your latest winnings + more (haha!). Believe me when I say that these local casino managers know a lot more about their regulars (such as you) than you think they do. Kudo's to you for leaving, and especially for telling that manager "why" you are leaving! Maybe one day they'll get the hint that they shouldn't turn those slots into icebergs : )

I know for myself I lose I'd say 29 out of 30 trips on average. My sister on the other hand has WAY more even trips which in my book is a huge win!! Casinos are made because they make money and most people are losing in them. Unless they're hiding a lucky horseshoe up their ass I'd say someone that claims to always win is full of it.

I believe that most of us players/gamblers have the mindset that we will end up losing in a casino. But there is also the potential to win at times also, especially if you are lucky enough to hit/win something that can be "life changing". What casino's and their managers hate the most is an "aware-(SBG/slot player)" and/or an "educated-disciplined" gambler that knows/understands the odds of the game. Most serious gamblers will only play table games such as Poker, Black-Jack, and Craps. Other serious gamblers that prefer less social interaction will play video poker with a good pay schedule. I think that if you are going to gamble and expect to receive the best odds at winning as well as the best in accommodations, entertainment, comp's, fine food, etc., the casino's in and around LV is your best bet, (AC is 2nd best). I know that if I'm in either of these destinations and end up losing it doesn't hurt so bad because of all of the compensations that I receive like I have already listed above. Very few of your local casino's can compare to this. Sorry if it seems like I'm rambling here. I just want to share from my point of view : )

I'm like goldengreeke. It takes me a little over an hour to get to my local and I usually do well the first hour or so of being there.
I don't want to leave after being there an hour for another hour drive home and that is when sadly I tend to give it all back. I've been to my local several times and haven't written a report because the trip wasn't worth writing. :( :(
Good Luck to you on your upcoming trips :)

Slotdude, the forum (and any gambling forum for that matter) can give a skewed perspective. We generally love posting and reading about the excitement of winning, and often don't consider what happens between those beautiful wins. I've often felt like you, wondering what am I doing wrong if everyone else is winning. Once I got to know a few of the members and talk to them about what's happening between the winning pictures, I then realized we're all in the same boat relatively. We all love playing, hope to win, but generally end up on the losing side with a few break evens and winning trips. You're definitely not in the minority.

I lose 4 out of 5 trips for all casinos, including NA's. I've lost or broke even every trip (seven) to Vegas except one, where I came home with $33,000 (in cash). It was fun to bring that through security in Vegas (not a big deal, they see it all the time) and then in Dallas where I had to stop on the way back east to see a client (very big deal there -- airport police and INS got called and had to talk to them in a little room for 20 minutes).

Add me to the Loser's List! I went from Oct 2012 until March of this year without a handpay. In that timeframe I probably went to Vegas 10 times, Reno twice, took a few cruises and hit my locals (2 hours away) countless times. I lost on almost all of those trips, and quite often lost my entire bankroll. I got more serious about video poker, and that helped slow down the losing, but didn't magically fix it. I did better in Reno, managing to maintain more of my bankroll, but didn't win overall there either.

Luckily, this year has been much better so far, even after 3 Vegas trips along with Reno, Kansas City & my local trips. I had a brilliant run on video poker in March after a dismal start to a Vegas trip (I mean DISMAL, right @Cyndyga (http://jweforum.com/member.php?u=27)?) which put me up for that trip and slightly ahead for the year. My other trips were not winners, but I played smarter and lost less than allotted.

I went to my Local overnight Friday, and when all was said and done I lost $40. To me, that is a very successful trip - haha! I have a lovely bunch of winning pictures from that, and to look at them you would think for sure that I left well ahead. Pictures definitely do not tell the story!!

Slotdude I gamble way too much and like to remember the wins & try to forget the losses. I get a HP one week & lose the money within a couple of weeks later. In my 21 years of slotting I had 2 winning streaks. My record was 7 winning trips back in the late 1990's & 6 winning trips in a row about a year ago. Much more common for me is losing 3 or 4 times in a row. I can usually tell if it will be a winning day by how the machines are paying in the first $100. Get down fast and it is real hard to claw back to even. When I had my last winning streak it was because I would walk out & go home when ahead. Staying overnight at casino hotel is usually a bad result cause it is too easy to play it back.

I ALWAYS lose in Vegas and maybe win only one out of every seven times at local. Overall lose a lot more than win - but who wants to post pictures of a losing slot.

Like Goldengreeke and Jeani - we have to drive about 2 hours to our local so we always spend the night - sometimes two nights and many times we are up and put those wins back in. Oh well!! That's gambling.

I often post about wins in my TR's, however as many good hits as I may get, in the end I will usually say that I end up being down because I keep playing. We all know that you usually do end up losing if you keep playing. But as long as the slots play with me, giving me hits, I don't really care if I lose. I just want action while I'm playing.

I hate when I go and nothing seems to play with me and all I've done is play through my BR, lose and go home. But I don't think people want to hear about those trips.

There is no such thing as a too small bankroll:) I've won on my first spin in a casino and the win carried me for a long time. It's just luck.
2015 - three casino visits for me, two winners and one loser.
I play video poker - I've won big and lost big too.

I think it's important to remember that even though folks may be posting winning pics, it doesn't necessarily equate to a winning trip.

personally, I like to see everyone's pics of big wins and I like to take pics of my own big wins to share with my hubby if we are not playing side by side because as a slot lover, I think they are fun to look at. Losing slots just aren't "photo worthy" in my opinion. But I have taken pics before of near misses- for example, recently on China shores, I had full reels of the flags on reel 1,3,4,5 and not a connector on 2. I took a pic of that and showed my hubby and we mused about "can you imagine how epic it could have been if it connected!"

but even with all my winning pics, and everyone else's winning pics, I always try to remind myself that in most cases, it takes a lot more to get a win like that and it helps keep perspective.

Borgata was my home casino for years and I decided to make the GN my home casino after the Atlantic Club closed and I was able to get upgraded to Chairmen. I feel like I get more FP and comps at the GN for the same play as I had at Borgata. I never quite made Black at Borgata and they have no middle card level there. I just made Chairmen for the year at GN last week.

GN is still an older building, I like what they did when they took over Trump Marina, it's not the Borgata but none of the other AC casinos are. I never even equated Revel with Borgata.

We really like Vic & Anthony's and I love The Chart House Happy Hour. Their buffet could really use a complete overhaul and my husband would love it if they put in a Racebook.

Their pool and The Deck in the summer make the GN very desirable to us.

Slotdude, we post the good and the bad. All it takes is one good hit on a trip to get you back in the game and then you just hope the luck continues! We also feel limiting visits to the locals and instead going to AC for a few days is much better, because even with a losing trip, the comps of rooms and food take away some of the sting of losing.
Our only trip to Vegas was a losing one but we had plenty of great hits, tons of fun, and can't wait to go back. It isn't just coming home ahead that makes the trip fun!
