So...I'm not a VP player..but I figured I'd try some Ultimate X play in Tahoe this weekend. Blase is gonna teach me. I've started practicing and playing on and off on VP.com. That seems to be what I'm doing this am....Hope it brings me luck in Tahoe!

Rob, freeslots.com has the best free VP trainer that I know of on the internet. The only drawback is that you are limited to playing only single game format. You can learn JOB, DDB, DW that way. All of the other games other than maybe joker poker which I seldom play are variations of one of these three games.

I think your best machines to play vp on are the older IGT's. I don't believe that "they" can mess with those too much if they are using SBG in their casino. They may not be able to make the payback % a mystery on vp but there is still the "volatility" setting that they can possibly "tweak" : )

Having said that, now that I have basic strategy down on the three foundation games, I spend most of my time on videopoker.com. If you have not done so already they will give you a free 1 week gold membership that will get rid of the commercials and provide a training program among other things. If you like the benefits of the gold membership it is only about $80 a year which is a bargain if you like to play video poker. Their forum is a little lame though.

What is SBG?

What is SBG?
Server Based Gaming...It's a central computer that houses/controls the games as well as the RNG for the slot cabinets (slot machines) on the floor. You weren't aware of SBG? It's been going (installed) into casino's for over 10 years. Most use it now because it improves their bottom line. Ask Derek : )

On my PC at home, I've been using wizardofodds website. Lots of variations and a best play feature you can turn on or off
