There is a new Golden Nugget property in Lake Charles, LA (opened late, last year) which is just over a two-hour drive for us.
My husband gets mailings from the GN in Las Vegas. On the last page of the mailing it states call us for complimentary stays
at any of our other GN properties. He called and was told the only way to get a comped stay at the Lake Charles location is
have a GN LV host contact a host at the Lake Charles property. We don't have a host, and are not willing to pay $400 a night.

Stupid of them because how would they ever get us through the door? They should have sent all their TX players an offer
to at least get us to check it out. We'll just stay home.

I know in AC people have better luck with them, but from other stuff I've read, they don't give as freely as other properties in Vegas. Maybe because if you want a good property downtown, they're the only option?

That does suck Mauretania, I don't understand these casinos at times. My home casino is the GN in AC and I always have to contact my host to book a room at anytime. You can't book the room through their website on your own.

Maybe you could call GN-Vegas and talk to a host who would call for you? Hopefully you'd get a nice person and would help out....all they could do is say no...it would be interesting to see.

Guess you have to go gamble hard one day and hope for an offer.

It sounds like they only want "premium" players referred to them. Personally, I've heard too many bad things about the GN in Vegas so I don't care to stay or play at any of them.

It was way better when the two Internet guys owned them...Way better on comps

Bummer! Thats just plain stupid to print that.

Very stupid I'm guessing they don't have a link database that would make it easier to just check your stats at the other location

dvandentop, they don't. It's not like CET and from what I can tell by playing there the last year & a half, I have to go through my host to book rooms. If you look on the website it will usually show everything booked and/or outrageous room rates for the weekend.

I recently started receiving brochures for the GN in Vegas for up to four nights, food comp & FP. Wish I could go:(

I wouldn't be so sure about them not having links to other casino's let alone with their own B-Babe. When I went to LV 2 years ago (for 10 days) I had never stepped through the door at the GN and it wasn't long after that I returned home that I was receiving BIG offers from them via snail mail.

I don't doubt that they have some type of database to show who bigger players are. I guess I misread the original question, I was thinking dvandentop meant them having a website where you can book at another location when you have only played at a different location.

Mauritania the LV GN hosts are pretty aggressive at getting players to come to their LV property.

Just a thought if you're interested in trying Lake Charles is to phone GN in LV and ask for the host on duty.

I bet they can look up your play and recommend you to a LC host.

Just a thought... [emoji4]

GN is one of those companies where they don't link their players cards. I don't know why but I had to get a different one in LV, Laughlin, etc, even though the cards even look the same, just have the locations on them.

I had a similar experience recently- different casino- was the Cannery casinos in Las Vegas. They do the same thing- have similar looking cards, same owners but you can't use the same card at the other property.
I had a room offer for Eastside Cannery, but they were full. They had rooms at the original Cannery that night- so I called a host there. She told me I would have to get my host at the EC to call someone over there- that they cannot look at their database and see my play. The only way would be to have someone at the other property look up my play there and verbally tell them I qualified for a room comp. Problem was though I had some great offers and play history I didn't have a host assigned to me yet (now I do). I just stayed somewhere else, but it seems like how difficult would it be to link the database?

You're not missing much Monica, we've been there about 5 times since they've opened and I'm still not impressed!
We prefer L'auberge and Coushatta way more than the Nugget!

I have to say the same. Mom and I went there a few days after opening and we will never go back! I'd rather do to dumpy Delta Downs than GN Lake Charles.

That's interesting about only booking through your host. Do they send you offers, as well?

Thanks Jeani but we just didn't want to bother with the LV host runaround and we really haven't played much there. We do get comped nights at LDL which is next door.

Hey, Trey,
We don't really want to gamble hard at a "local". We like to play hard in Las Vegas:)

Thanks Clemi, I've only stayed for one-night prior to the Halloween stumbles and never really played much there as the VP is awful. My husband played more and used his card (I'm bad about that) but he hasn't played in a couple of years. I didn't think a host at LV GN would even talk to me:)

kdk, Thanks for mentioning about the cards not being linked across properties. My husband did say they told him that too. I forgot to state that in my first post. Interesting that the Canneries are run the same way. I don't get it either.

I like Double Triple Dubloon slots which the other casinos don't have. So I take a morning walk from LDL to GN along the lake. Like Lacey, I prefer Coushatta and LDL.
