That's so funny! I would go back JUST for the Hula Pie. We also had Ted's Pie in an obscure place near Turtle Bay. Didn't you just love Turtle Bay. I could live there! We stayed in a beach cottage and slept with the sliding door open and screen door closed so we could hear the ocean all night. It was fabulous!

Seas are calm and the sun is shining! Everything has been perfect so far, except internet is not only expensive, but slow as fuck! We get to Hawaii in a couple more days I think and I will update and send pictures from there. Suffice it to say, we are very happy :)

Today was Hilo on the big Island of Hawaii. You can see snow on top of the mountains! We rented a car and took our time visiting Volcano national Park Including a little hike to and through a lava tube, Hilo coffee mill, The farmers market, a ukulele store and we swam at Richardson State Park. Black sand is hot as fuck but the water was cool and refreshing. We had a great day!

What an absolutely fantastic trip so far!!!! A comped birthday trip that knocks an item off your dear Frank's bucket list plus getting to leave from your Tim's current home town!!!! Loving all the pics. My parents and daughter did an Alaska cruise on Princess and they absolutely loved it. Hoping your casino luck turns around and don't forget bingo, can be big tax free bucks.

We had lunch at Ted's bakery, and yes they had some baked goods, but they did a steady luncheon business of Hawaiian Staples. I had chicken and mahi-mahi which came with kimchi, macaroni salad, 16 pounds of rice, and banana cream pie. It was yummy. I didn't get a picture of FRAnk's lunch, but he had the recommended special which I forgot the name of (Update franks lunch was Mocoloco). but was a Fried egg on a large hamburger patty on 17 pounds of rice smothered in gravy. These Hawaiians don't eat lightly!

So, growing up having snow cones as a kid, I figured the shaved ice thing had to be much ado about nothing. Wrong. Shaved ice maybe the best thing ever invented!
