My advice is go to St. John on your own and pick a beach that the cruise people are not dropped off at. Too crowded. There are 39 beaches over there.

I have been to St. John at least 18 times. If you need some info, let me know.
St. John is my favorite place on Earth, too. Currently, Francis/Maho Bays are my favorite beaches because of the snorkeling.
