Thread: Comped Cruise Line/Casino affiliations

    Comped Cruise Line/Casino affiliations

They change but here's where I think it stands now.
CET - NCL (used to be Carnival)
    Mlife - Royal Caribbean
    Cosmopolitan - Holland America
Palazzo/Venetian - Princess Cruises (It used to be Carnival)

In the past few years, if you play enough on certain cruise lines, they will comp you from the cruise line, itself.

That all looks right to me, Mauretania.

I know some of the locals also offer cruises, although I am not sure if they change cruise lines frequently.

    Foxwoods - NCL
    Twin River - NCL

Anyone else have any to add?

Last fall Cosmopolitan gave me a certificate for a free 7-night Holland America cruise (Caribbean or Mexico).

    BUT:

    a) It was an inside cabin, meh. (Guess this proves conclusively that I'm not a high-roller!)
    b) It was only good for a handful of dates during a limited timespan, none of which I could possibly make.

    Oh well!

It's the same deal more or less with Venetian/Palazzo's comp Princess cruise, inside cabin unless one upgrades and I need my balcony. LOL. However they did offer cruises up to 15 days, so for those who don't mind a inside cabin or paying the money to upgrade it's not a bad deal. Our deal was good for about 6 months but we're not using it.

I give credit for M-Life offering Platinum level the 5 day cruises for 2 with balcony and some other perks such as X amount of minutes of free internet, free drink coupons (good only in ship casino though you can leave with drink) free specialty restaurant for 2, priority boarding and a couple other minor things. If Platinum level wants to do a longer cruise they will give you a credit for it and it turns out that within Platinum level the cruise line see rankings and gives some M-Life members more credit then other Platinum M-Life levels. My discount when we went for the 7 day Caribbean was $750.00 which was nice because I already have a cruise booked at a bargain rate and they applied it to that, I didn't have to do a new booking for the discount. For NOIR level which we no longer are with M-Life we had the 7 day cruise with the perks above but included a free bottle of wine and more casino drink coupons.

My offer was for an ocean view cabin and good through 2015. I did book one for November but it's on one of their newer ships which I'm guessing doesn't have OV as they assigned me a balcony
stateroom. It's a long way off, so not sure I'll be able to go but I can cancel close in.

That's great that yours was a ocean view cabin. So far everyone I have talked to that is gold or platinum with Grazie just got the Princess cruise offer that was for a inside cabin, good to know that some at least got a ocean view and it makes sense that they would have different tiers of offers for the cruises. I just checked and my offer is good until November 30th, 2015 too but letter says two in an interior cabin darn it, if it had been at least ocean view I might have considered using it since Princess has some ships that leave out of San Francisco. At least I got a very nice Princess fabric tote bag with the offer. LOL!

Those are sweet offers! I've gotten the ones from Foxwoods for inside staterooms on NCL, but only booked one.

I find it much easier to book directly through NCL's Casino at Sea, and I have qualified for anything from inside to mini suite depending on ship/length/date, etc. They make it simple and affordable to upgrade, and their program is very generous in my opinion. I am a pretty low roller, and my cruising buddy Carol, is an even lower roller. We generally get adjoining balconies as we each qualify for our own room, and they don't charge a single supplement which is one of the very best perks in my opinion!

I'm thinking we might want to start separate threads for different cruiselines. What do you guys think?

Sounds like I need to check out NCL! I was offered the cruise certificate from Cherokee and New Orleans and it was oceanview but I never picked it up because I work and it was during the week...

Pechanga offers are for NCL also. My husband and I both received one, and NCL allows you to combine then to upgrade from the interior cabins. It also includes free drinks in casino and I think we received some kind of onboard credit also. We are booked on the Getaway in August.
