    Stepping Up My Solo Trip

    Hi all-

So I'm heading to Las Vegas for my very first solo trip the week of Thanksgiving. My usual travel buddies couldn't make it this time around, mood to go....so solo it is. A little nervous about it, but I'm hoping to have some fun.

Anyways, thanks to a great airline deal, two comped nights downtown to end the trip and some help from MyVegas, I came in way under budget. I thought maybe I would upgrade my hotel experience a bit for my strip days. Right now, I'm booked at Monte Carlo for a great price. I'm willing to add from $50-$100 per night for the three nights for a little more luxury. I want to stay in the MLife family for points and MyVegas sake.

So where would you go? A nice room at Aria? Bellagio? Upgrade to one of the better rooms at Monte Carlo? The Delano looks intriguing (and is on sale at Travelocity) but I'm not sure I want to be that far from the strip. How are the better Mirage rooms?

Or should I just forget it and save some coin?

    Thanks all!

I would save the BR for gambling because that is all I do in Vegas! Rarely am in the room, just to toss and turn and know there is a casino downstairs calling me. I love solo trips. No one to keep up with and always meet the nicest people. Have a great time. Where are you staying Downtown?

Have a great trip. If you want to upgrade I would select Aria as it is my favorite. But if the idea of having extra BR for the gambling sounds better, Monte Carlo is fine and it is attached to Aria so it is a quick walk.
I would not have an issue going on a solo trip to Vegas if it came down to it. Good luck and I hope you have some great wins to report!

Have a great trip. I love my solo trips (especially where there are Jokers around to hang with) and if you like the Monte Carlo casino, then I would stay put and use the extra funds towards bankroll. MC has a fabulous location surrounded by MLife casinos, which seems ideal for you. Mirage is nice but doesn't have that proximity advantage.

If you get a chance, hit up the Introduction thread and tell us a little about yourself.

Hotel 32 at Monte Carlo, but may break the budget. Hope to see you out there!

    Hi all-

    Thanks for the responses.

I'm staying at the Freemont for the downtown part of the trip (the last two nights.) It's not the fanciest place in the world, but I think the rooms are clean and comfortable. I've also always been pretty lucky in the casino there.

    Talk to you all soon-

Since you'll be solo and unless you're planning on spending an extraordinary amount of time in it is stick with what you have and add to th bankroll. You might wanna ask at check in if they have any complimentary upgrades and even if they don't they may have one at a substantial savings compared to upgrading ahead of time. Have a wonderful trip, can't wait to hear about it and hope you're able to meet up with the fun Jokers that'll be there at the same time.

I say add to your bankroll and then you might get better offers at Mlife in the future. That said, I love Aria and Bellagio but it's harder to recieve comps with a small bankroll.
