Haven't done Royal Caribbean for years, but @Cyndyga has been on either the Oasis or Allure (sister ship) or both so she is your girl for this. I have heard that Oasis is a great family cruise, so you chose well!

Oasis of the Sea is by far the biggest cruise ship we have ever been on. It has been almost 3 years since we did our cruise but when we went the shows on board, and Hairspray was their feature show at the time, were all incredible. I think there was about 7,000 passengers on board but it never felt crowded to us. The food in the main dining room was very good. The only disappointment we had as far as food went was the night we did their Chef's Table. We had heard so many great things about it and when we went there on the last night of the cruise we were a little let down.

They have an ice skating rink, an outdoor movie theater, and an area that gives you the feeling that you are walking through Central Park. We had breakfast every morning at Johnny Rockets which was very good BTW other than a couple of mornings when we did room service. At the time we went there was no charge for room service but some of the cruise lines are starting to charge for it. And the pizza at the pizza place was very good.

Also as part of our trip, compliments of CET, we enjoyed unlimited drinks from the casino and bottled wine at dinner every night. The service at the casino bar was surprisingly fast and efficient considering how many people were getting free drinks. They have a fairly large casino but it was crowded most of the time we were there mainly because we were part of a group of about 500 CET players that were on the cruise. As big as the ship was we had no problem getting around at all. And as far as I know I think it is still the largest cruise ship in the world. We would definitely do it again some time.

I loved Oasis and Allure of the Seas, you and your family will have a wonderful time. The shows are fantastic and service was great. I would tell you about all the great meals we had since we ate only in the speciality dining rooms but a few months after our cruise they changed most of the dining options so it's really best to go read a recent trip report on Cruise Critic about that. Casino on board is large and clean. They will constantly comp you free drink tickets and likely the casino will comp the speciality dining rooms that charge extra for you.

Here's a link to the video I took last year when we had the Owners Suite on Oasis.
