Thread: How crazy/busy is AC over the Fourth of July?

How crazy/busy is AC over the Fourth of July?

We're thinking of going down to AC from late Friday night through early Monday morning of the July 4th weekend.

For Jokers who have been in AC for the holiday - how crazy and/or busy is it? I don't expect to do much gambling (will be Vegas-style hit n runs) but curious at how busy the boardwalk and bars/restaurants are.

    Thanks!

Dina, I have always found everything to be extremely crowded.

Thanks Margie. We just started talking about this so don't really have anything concretely planned but I spent some time researching at lunchtime.

But I'm thinking I'll make reservations for dinner Saturday and Sunday.

He really wants to go to Ocean City for part of a day - probably Saturday. And we'd get to the pool super early Sunday and then head to the new beer garden for the Buffett tribute band in the afternoon. Both those will be busy but as long as we can claim a chair and get inside the beer garden, we should be ok.

And we'll deal with the busy-ness of bars both nights I guess. Or maybe not. Bc Gypsy gets packed on a normal summer weekend.

And I'll find some time to sneak down to the HL room for some quick gambling.

It'll be crowded. Enjoy it if you go. That's somewhere I won't go on the fourth, especially with traffic.

@DK528, I love the beach for the 4th so I don't mind the crowds. Borgata usually has their own fireworks too. Ocean City will be equally as crowded. Enjoy!

If I wanted a time out, I would go back to kindergarten.

Terrible traffic down the GSP if you don't time it correctly. We always stay at the Borgata because we are Titanium and the gave great fireworks. But yes it will be crowded

Dina, we have been down to the Borgata for the 4th of July. I only remember it being crazy busy at night with people waiting for the fireworks show. The fireworks show was great, watched it from room. Being a long weekend might be more crowded, I think it would be a perfect getaway for you! Wish I could go lol!

Thanks everyone. I think we may head down very late Friday night (like leaving the Newark area at 9pm) and leave AC early Monday morning bc BF has to work Tuesday so we want to avoid traffic coming back.

So we'll miss the Fourth of July fireworks down there but ... my firm office is on the 45th floor of a building in midtown that will have an amazing view of the Macy's fire works so we'll have that to look forward to.

Looks like the trop will have fireworks on Saturday of that weekend so we'll have those to see.

I've been before for 7/4, its pretty busy but the casino isn't really overly crowded, usually holidays the machines are open because people aren't "gamblers"

I think its going to be a mad house in AC fourth of July weekend
Especially with 5 of the 8 casinos headed for STRIKE/walk out on July 1st if demands are not met. 5000 workers. (Borgata, Nugget, and Resorts have an extension)

This happened back in 2004 and there were mass crowds of picketers everywhere. I wasn't there, but pics looked chaotic.

Now,that being said I will be heading down to the Borgata Sat. there is an excellent U2 cover band playing their new Beer Garden concert area. I am
a little nervous because I am staying at the Taj and they are one of the striking casinos. I should be more relaxed after a couple of beers tho.
