Thread: Update and thanks for Laughlin!

    Update and thanks for Laughlin!

As some of you know from Facebook when I returned home from Laughlin I had severe pain which turned out to be kidney stones. Earlier this week I had a laser and sound wave treatment in the hospital for both Kidneys which went well and while I currently have a stent in me to help pass the now tiny fragments I'm expecting to have the stent removed on Wednesday. I had some indications that something was wrong the night before I left for Laughlin but thankfully it didn't happen there. First time having kidney stones and hoping it is the last. For any Jokers who have had them in the past you have my sympathy.

Thanks Mimi for organizing the Meet and also to Gina for organizing her dinner. Food at all the restaurants were great and I thought both you ladies did a great job organizing everything and all of us know there is tons of work involved in pulling off a great Meet like this one.

Thanks to Ken for driving me to and from Laughlin!

I did lose $100.00 at Harrah's because I was stupid and left the money in the game and someone quickly cashed it out. They did find out who it was but it turned out they had my cell number incorrect and my room phone was not working so I'm not sure if they ever got my money back or not. I found out about my room phone not accepting incoming calls when I didn't get my wake up call and told them about it the next night when asking for another wake up call and questioning why I didn't have one that morning so they tested the phone line and found it didn't work for incoming calls. Then they tried to call me back by cell and found out they had that number wrong so if security ever tried to get ahold of me by phone that was not going to happen. Anyway, it's a wake up call for me to be more careful.

Thanks to other Joker's winning in Laughlin, I know it was me and not the games there, but I actually lost a lot more in Laughlin then in Vegas so I've decided that a few percentage points better return really doesn't help all the much if one is unlucky. There were some nice casinos and restaurants in Laughlin but I don't see myself returning unless there's another big Meet in the future planned for there. Outside of Vegas I prefer Reno and Lake Tahoe and do see myself visiting that area once a year, or perhaps more.

The most fun in Laughlin was of course seeing all of you who were there and I'm looking forward to the next west coast meet whenever that might happen!

Hi Diana, nice seeing you again. Sorry to hear about the stones, glad you're on the road to normalcy. I fared about the same at Harrah's Laughlin as I have at Bally's using about the same game selection and bet sizes. It is all luck. We'd return to Laughlin to stay at Aquarius

Laughlin was a big money suck for me also. Was so hard the first night to get any win over 100$. I don't think I ever did. I fared a little better the next night, but too little too late.
I'd go back if there was another meet also.
I'm glad you're back on the mend . Also glad you decided to head home instead of staying in LV a few more days.

Sorry to hear about your health issues. I have not seen anything from you so I figured something was wrong. Glad to hear you are on the mend.

So sorry about the kidney stones. I know actually what you are going through, had them in 2009. I had surgery, not the kind you had and they made it worse. So I had to go for a different one. I swear that was worse than having Logan!! You will feel like a new person when that stent is out, at least that's how I felt. Even though you lost, glad you had a good time with all the Jokers.

It was nice meeting you Diana at the meet. I also had a really rough trip gambling wise, couldn't get anything to win much over $200 at any of the casinos this time myself, but I guess I can't win every time. Hopefully the kidney stones stay away, those can be so painful.

I'm sure I'll be in Laughlin again, but will go back to staying at Aquarius when there, I'm just not a big fan of that Harrah's. But it was a good place for a meet and would definitely attend one there again just because of how fun it was.
