Charles Town Races & Casino ??

Do any of our Jokers have any experience with Charles Town Races and Casino? I'll be road tripping from Florida back home next month and we are considering a stop there since there will be racing that week. I am wondering if it is an okay place to hang out and play for a bit, and if the hotel (actually looks more like a motel I think) is decent or if we should stay at the Hampton nearby. Any insight at all will be appreciated!

My favorite aunt goes there once a month on a bus trip. She really enjoys the casino and says her money lasts there. I have never asked her what slots they have. And I have never asked if they stay at the actual casino. But my aunt does not like seedy places and she is tight with her money, so I think it must be an okay place to spend a little time at.

Thanks @zeus! That sounds pretty promising actually, so I am going to put it on our itinerary. It's always fun to check out someplace new

We were there before they built the hotel so it has been years but the casino was large and we had fun there. Everyone was nice too. Please report back and good luck! Have fun.

@Nhcris, my husband and I went there on our way back from TN in October 2015. We stayed at a Hampton or something like that. We really enjoyed the casino, a big selection of slots and I had a lot of luck, I left ahead about $500.

No racing when we were there but we said we would consider doing a long weekend when they have racing. It was only 4 hours from home and some of the nearby scenery was beautiful. It's right near the Potomac. I say do it!

If I wanted a time out, I would go back to kindergarten.

Thanks @BorgataBabe, that sounds ideal. If we get our asses out of Cherokee early, we should be able to enjoy the scenery on the drive up. It has been years since I have passed through that area.

Hey Chris!!!..My horseplay buddy loved Charlestown when he went. I don't play the horses there too often but he does. The Inn at Charlestown is supposed to be okay.
