    Cell Phone Preference

I have to get a new cell phone, I currently have an LG G3 which has developed the dreaded boot loop issue where it turns itself off and on and a few other things. I've had Samsung in the past and have looked several different times over the last few days at the new Galaxy S9, but it's hard to convince myself to spend $800-$1,000 on a phone. Some I'm looking for other at android options, don't want to go Apple. Any suggestions, phones to stay away from, etc?

I have had my Galaxy S8 for about a year now and have been very happy with it. Yeah, I agree on the S9. I am glad I am not one of those that has to have the latest and greatest. But the S8 battery lasts with doing a lot of searches, posts, etc., the pics turn out good, and the phone in general is easy to use.

If I was buying a new one, I’d go with Samsung.

Unless you go with some kind of deal from your carrier phone prices are stupid . may consider going with tracfone they have smartphone's there at a reasonable rate

Last year when I wanted to get a new iPhone I went to the casino and won $710. It paid for the phone and hard case. LOL

Depending on what all you use it for, Samsung has a J series of smart phones that cost way less. We got a J7 in January and have been very happy with it. Besides calls, we use it for texting, pics, Tapatalk, a few games (Sudoku type), TR Play, AOL, Facebook, Google maps, Yelp, GasBuddy, manage TIVO and some internet. Only needs charged every couple days. Been very happy with it. We had had an S3 for 4 or so years. Got it for $10 at Sam's Club, but you can't just buy phones and take them to AT&T any more, you have to buy through AT&T and make monthly payments. The J7 is $6/mo, the S8 was going to be $25 or 30.

Finally have a new phone, my old one forced the issue when it completely died on Friday and wouldn't even turn on anymore . I went with the Samsung Galaxy S9 and switched carriers to T-Mobile. If you are military either currently in the service or a veteran T-Mobile has an awesome deal that started today. We combined both of our phones and my son and grandson on one account and will be saving $100 per month The new service is unlimited data, text, talk and even includes a free Netflix subscription.

Now I just have to learn to use this phone and since my old one died add my apps back on it and pictures. I have already added tapatalk - gotta have priorities.
