This guy's trying to pull a casino scam...

I saw this today in the top news section of the local paper.

I have seen the usual "malfunction" stories but this isn't even that. The photo can't be enlarged but curious if you see what I'm seeing, and it's not the top jackpot he's claiming. It's a $25 denom machine.

If he gets something out of this I'll start sending my near misses to the news too. Funny how the comments in the article are all about how casinos cheat everyone.

This guy is actually a friend of one of my co-workers too. I'm guessing he just lost all his money and trying to get something? hard to say.

I dunno. I'm kind of on his side in this. I understand that if my graphics or colors aren't right on my machine (and I think we've all played some old ones that are clearly off) that it doesnt affect the outcome but seriously.... If that bulb is burned out, it looks amazingly exactly red to me not orange. Curious to know if the tribe has conveniently pulled the machine from the floor now with all the publicity while they wait for a new bulb. Either way, he's fighting a losing battle here.

Easy to solve this. Just find the other seven on the reel in question and figure out which is red and which is orange. Since you can see the symbols below the sevens in the picture, a little trial and error is all that's needed. I bet there's another machine next to it with the same reel strip too.

If it is so hard to tell the difference between the red and orange, then yhe slot should have a different color that is not so close. Sure looks red to me. He will have a tough time winning this one unfortunately.

Yeah...that is definitely a RED double 7. If it were meant to be orange but their light displayed red. That's on them. This man is owed the $50k...

So to me it first looked like three orange sevens with doubles, but that would have been $8000 so didn't make sense. Then I looked at it for a while could see it was two orange sevens and the last one is a red seven all with doubles. That would be $4000. Now that I see it it seems obvious at least to me but again I was staring at it for a while in the pic.

I agree though they should make the top sevens look a bit more different, or not so close in color. I was also once playing a really old version of this game where the reels were faded and I thought I lined up all of the same color at first then realized it wasn't. It wasn't a big jackpot or anything so didn't think much of it, but could be confusing. I doubt he'll get anything especially since he took the $4K already.

I was actually there yesterday myself, and walked through the HL room. *although the story didn't come out until today) There are four of these in there and one was turned off, although still on the floor. Not sure it's the one but interesting. I have played ones that are faded or even where the reels don't stop perfectly. I guess I would be upset too if they lined up like that and didn't win.

What an interesting story. I sure would be disappointed if I thought I’d won $50,000 and ended up with $4000. I’m pretty sure the guy is out of luck. He won’t win against the tribe.

can the other 7's (orange, blue) have a double as well? From the pay table looks like only the red 7 can have the double. if thats the case and its the only color, then he hit the jackpot.
