I think that is the normal spot for the Symphony. That pier was a Navy Pier and has only been used for cruise ships fairly recently, if I understand correctly. I have never been there, so I have no clue what it is like, but probably good that you are taking an excursion as it sounds like it is a bit farther away from the action.Originally Posted by dvandentop

I thought you might get a kick out of this comparison between your first cruise ship and mine, Derek.
The Symphony of the Seas weighs 228,081 gross tons. She carries up to 6680 passengers and a crew of 2200.
The Starship Majestic weighed 17,042 gross tons. She carried up to 760 passengers and a crew of 390.
And there she is in all her glory. Oh how the times have changed!!!
I guess our first cruise 25 years ago on the Regal Empress, the ship must have been huge at 23k tonnage and 1,300 passengers.Best staff and food we ever experienced on a cruise.
