Day drive up to Mt Charleston.. we did it on a rented Harley (brrrr) not a lot to see, but amazing to me in the mountains when Vegas is so close. One restaurant at the top.. Food was good, service a little slow.. but understandable.. may be tough to get employees up there.

Vally of Fire is on our list and that sounds like a great drive! Thank you for the suggestion. It's definitely on the list!

We did go to Mount Charleston Lodge last year and loved it. Since the lodge burned down, we have found that there is another place called The Resort at Mount Charleston that we can have breakfast or lunch at and we plan to do that.

Q3 : never heard of it . but now that you bring it up i will check it out .
    Q4 : Another one i haven't heard of .
If yall haven't done the Hoover Dam tour its pretty cool . we all so took a ride out to Pahrump Na a few times . its kind of gamble centric but nice vistas along the way for sure .
Charlie, we did look up Pahrump and I think we might take a trip there. Thank you so much. I had never heard of it and my husband can get a chip from there. We've definitely run out of chips for him to collect on the strip.

Thank you, TAB. My husband is hesitant as well. I will share your thoughts, as I think he would like it very much. We are old and struggle to try new things.

I’d say to go to boneyard and brilliant at night and you can go to area 15 at any time of the day. we went in the morning and it was a nice break from the crazy heat we experienced on our June trip.

Of the two, boneyard and brilliant is more quintessentially Vegas. I do want to go back to Omega Mart bc I didn’t “get” what it was about although it was a cool experience otherwise. There’s other fun stuff at area 15 too.

Thank you, Dina! I've suggested Brilliant for a couple of years now and we are definitely going this year! He wants to get a chip from downtown, so I think I may suggest just "stopping in" at Area 15. At least there's no commitment to allocate time and we can bolt if he isn't enjoying himself.

Thank you, Zeus! My husband likes Vegas, but, unlike me, he is not into 24/7 gambling. A couple of years ago we started adding non-gambling activities and our trips have been so much more enjoyable for us both. I laughed out loud at your "Stupid-ass Dragon Link" comment. I followed your recent trip each day. It was great and I was shocked (and disappointed) when you said you and Allen were headed to airport. It just went by too, quick.

Derek, I think you just bought my ticket to Area 15! He will love a distillery tour. If we actually take the tour, I will report back for you and Amy!
