Yikes -- Waiting for a beverage offer at Resorts World!

I hope others have better luck than this guy when they play at Resorts World! I think I'd bring a bottle of water just in case....

Wow, that seems a bit extreme. I have seen times where I had to wait a little bit, but is that a sign of how poorly RW is doing? I have not heard a lot about it, amd was looking forward to Elf's impression.

I don't necessarily think not having a CW stop by on a Wednesday is a huge deal, not having a few on weekends would seem like a bigger issue. So many challenges still remain.

I agree there are challenges, but why would someone who chooses to visit Vegas during the week, spending their money at the slots not be afforded the same "free" cocktail as the ones who gamble on the weekend? I agree that busier times should call for more servers, but don't neglect your customers. It leaves a lasting impression on folks. I know it does me.

I admittedly fast forwarded through parts of the video but did see one part where the CW was at the next machine bank over. Why not get her attention and ask for a drink then?? I played only in HL the time I was at RW. I was asked if I wanted a drink almost immediately but am not sure I ever saw a CW after initially declining. Honestly, the only casino that has excellent cocktail service anymore is Cosmo. I’m sure that will change eventually. Last time I was at MB I gave the CW $5 for each drink. She literally sought me out each day and made sure I never went without. She was the only CW working the slot floor at MB. Staffing has been severely cut.

When we went for Allen's conference in August, I went down to MB on Wednesday, I think, and the cocktail servers were in full force .I remembered what you had said about staffing levels on your last visit, so was pleasantly surprised. And I was very pleased with service at all MGM properties the last few trips. I never had to wait. Granted, the cocktails are not the quality of Cosmos, but you can't F up a Fireball. They had to have brought more on.

I'm confused by this video. At one point, a message pops up on the video saying that the drink order was placed at 17:42 and then another message says the drink was delivered at 23:07. Is he talking about someone else's drink? Then, 3 minutes later the CW is at the bank to the right of him. I realize his complaint is that she doesn't come near his area to offer a drink, but the CW is well within reach to just call out to her yet he doesn't. By the end of the video, he still has his $5 tip in hand and says he never did get a drink.

I don't think the 17-minute mark for placing an order is unreasonable on a weeknight, if I'm understanding that correctly. Five minutes is an annoying amount of time to wait for the drink to be delivered, but again, not unreasonable when short staffed.

I do appreciate this video though, as soooo many times I feel like I'm stuck in "no beverage land" at whatever slot I'm playing, without any hope of rescue. I have taken to going up to the bar to order a good drink and, while it does cost me more, it's probably less than some of the times I've waited around spending more in a machine than I wanted to.

I think the drink order/delivery was noting the time he got his bev order at MGM Grand, for comparison. Like @Efl70, I always tip $5 for my first drink -- even if it's water -- and find the CW checks in often going forward. With the CW so close by, he certainly could have waved her over. It's one thing when they're moving so fast they don't hear, but she was right there.

Ohhhh, duh. That makes sense. Other than not calling out to the CW who was nearby, I appreciate this video. Like I said, I've found myself "stranded" many times and then I play the game of trying to position myself in a spot that seems to be getting regular service .... until, of course, I show up.

I saw very little to no cocktail waitresses this weekend at three casinos. Rivers did have carts of premade drinks you could get, but if you wanted alcohol forget about it. Wheeling Island charged me $7 for a shot of Fireball. Hollywood Meadows, no waitresses. I didn't even get a buzz on. Not fair..HHH

Jacob is still learning playing slots and also how expensive drinks can end up being. He's a bit of amateur!
