Borgata announces $55M redesign, rebrand of The Water Club

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced March 14 a $55 million redesign and rebranding of The Water Club.

The news comes as the resort prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

As part of the transformation, The Water Club will be renamed the MGM Tower and feature more than 700 completely reimagined guestrooms, along with a new collection of luxury Vista Suites that will be located at the tower’s corners with sweeping views of Atlantic City.

The WC rooms have needed to be updated for awhile. I love that tower because it's away from all the noise and I love the pool. I just hope this change doesn't make it more difficult to get rooms on that side.

They could not come up with a better name? I really like it as The Water Club.

I just read that remodeled rooms will be available in April, and the project is to be completed by Memorial Day Weekend. Wow! That's one helluva turnaround on 700 rooms.

I was thinking the same thing! The Water Club sounds way classier.

They got lucky, after months of focus groups and executive meetings on renaming the Water Club, they discovered the name MGM Tower wasn't already taken.

I wonder why? And the study came in under budget at $1.7M.

Funny story, MGM Tower was taken about 10 years ago! Foxwoods partnered with MGM to build a casino and hotel connected to Foxwoods. And they did! When the MGM license wasn’t renewed by Foxwoods, they rebranded it the “Fox Tower” but my family still calls it MGM all these years later since that’s what it was for such a long time.
I also can’t believe they dropped the Water Club name, just dumb!
