Yeah, I thought it might be interesting to see if it ends in a net profit or loss. The ones I may have to stay away from unless they are just about to the top may be Hexbreaker 3. It just seems like such a hard game to win on and line pays aren't much at all. Seems like you have to count on the progressives too much.

Hexbreaker 3 has not been kind. I learned not to chase those. Too many spins don’t pay even the bet back or anything so by the time I get what I was chasing I’m usually down more than double of what I win from finally getting the credits or a bonus.

Just wanted to update my experience with advantage slots this trip to Vegas. I can honestly say that it was a fun little exercise and I even showed Kevin what to look for and he caught on quickly.
I would have to say the biggest chance for success was on Scarab and I think there was only 1 round of it that resulted in a tiny loss. Found 3 or 4 rounds that resulted in quick $30-40 profits for just a few spins and one $80 hit. Lots of rounds with $5-10 profits. Only had one really nice screen I found at Joe Blow Gold that got me about a $75 quick profit. I did notice some other people checking machines too. Didn't care for Ocean Magic but to be honest, I didn't think I really saw any good screens left. And because I watch SDGuy play Hexbreaker 3, I stupidly chased what I thought was a good screen and blew $160 in that POS. Never again, that has to be the shittiest game ever made, lol.
All in all, it was fun and once we knew where all the machines were in the various casinos, we always checked them when walking by. Did find one HL Scarab machine but there was nothing good left on it.
I'll definitely keep doing the advantage scavenger hunt in casinos!

That’s what happened to me with Hexbreaker too. Definitely crappiest game ever.
What do you look for on scarab? I played it today and it was fun but wasn’t sure what
To look for. Never saw any where someone was part way into the 10 games.

Number 1, you definitely need to find a machine that isn't already showing spin 10 of 10. If less than 10, you will want to see a decent amount of spots already circled (those will be wild on spin 10). There could also be a scarab or two actually still showing, that would mean that the person got those on their last spin played and they will also become circled like the others on the next spin. You will want to check all the bet levels and if a multi denom machine, all denominations. I think I kind of pissed off two women playing Scarab at Linq when I walked up to the machine between them and after checking, saw a good screen at the $1.50 level. I didn't even sit down, just put a $10 in and played 3 spins and hit for a quick $80, looked at them, shrugged with a smirk on my face and cashed out, lol.
Here is a little article explaining advantage on Scarab.

I found a good 88 game at the Hard Rock Tampa. Ended up with full screen wilds on a 1.20 bet and won 720.00.
looks like new buffalo link game could be with the max amount of heads on each denom and bet size??
haven't played in person but seems to max out at some point?
seems like worst buffo version ever though tight af
