Bruce covering Purple Rain

My sisters, brother in law and I went to see Bruce Springsteen on the final night of his River tour for one of my sister's birthdays.

Tough to get tickets and we sat behind the stage. Like billy Joel, wasn't terrible to sit behind stage - had screens, they came and acknowledged us plenty and it's not such an involved show with dancers or effects.

Like his Saturday show, he covered Purple Rain. I videoed it:

Love this! I love Bruce and this was awesome to see the full rendition.
Fun fact, Prince was a huge fan of Bruce as well and looked up to him and studied him as a bandleader, I'm sure he'd approve!

It was an incredible show. Three and a half hours nonstop. Maybe a break for a sip of water but a lot of times he went straight into the next song. I can't believe his energy (and the energy of his band mates; Max Weinberg is incredible).

Anther highlight is that he really reads signs in the crowd. He sang a couple songs based on sign requests and brought up a 10 year old girl whose sign read something like "I've been blinded by the light and know all the lyrics and I'm 10." She sang the first couple verses with a faint drumbeat and some coaching from Bruce in front of 20,000 people. And he loved it.

Sounds like he put on a great show. I'm blown away by the quality of the sound on that video. Did you plug your phone directly into their sound system!!??

Thanks @dwwright12! I wonder if it's because we were behind the stage, there were fewer people and well-placed speakers? I listened to my other video (Ramrod) and I don't think it's as good quality
