Thread: Powerball Jackpot - Did you buy a ticket.. and what would you do with the money?

It's almost surreal to think about that much money! I'm with @nhchris, burner phones, but I would be on a yacht somewhere.

DH and I talked and first thing would be no high school athlete in our area would ever have to pay to play! A foundation that would anonymously make peoples lives better.

My kinda idea also! Can you imagine how crazy that would be. Give everyone 10k br see who can make it into the biggest pile of cash over 24 hrs.

DH and I were playing the "what if" game last night just for fun. If we won, first thing would be hiring a first class financial attorney (I used to work for one, so guess who would get my business)?, set up a LLC and have them collect the winnings - why make it easy for someone to stalk and harass you for money?, a financial planner from a large money market firm, a CPA that deals in nothing but large estates and portfolios so the government doesn't get more than they are allowed, and last but not least a forensic accountant to make sure everybody stays honest. With that much money, the temptation is way too great. Our kids would have trust accounts with quarterly withdrawals set up; we don't want them to ever get the idea that they don't have to pull their own weight - no "affluenza" with this family. Next up, a list of relatives and friends and a set amount (@1 mil. each) set up into trust accounts for them with a suggestion for them to get their own financial planner. Anyone coming out of the woodwork for a handout would have to go through the attorney and financial planner for approval. Definitely get a burner phone, move until it calms down and then have some fun. We have our own pet charities that we support, but we would like to take a cross country road trip and help where there is a need. Small town hospital needs a NICU; done. Homeless vets need housing and essentials; done, rural SPCA's need food, bedding, and supplies; done. There is no way on earth that we could go through that much money before we are dust, so why not put it to good use for others who really need it? That being said, yes, I would have my "secret stash" and hit some casinos on our road trip !!!

LMAO We bought 5 tickets for the group at work. One of my coworkers said to our boss with that kind of money we could buy out our owner. We looked at each other and have a good laugh cause you wouldn't have to work anymore. I said I would have my toes in the sand with a drink in my hand.
Alas the best we could do is 2 numbers on one of our tickets.

The best that I got was the Powerball # with 1 line # @foamy. Not much to crow about. No more work for me though - been retired for 3 years now. Maybe no one hit and we could get another shot at it? (we won't know until morning).

@foamy , recheck your #'s. The Pa. lottery site didn't post tonight's #'s until later (after our forum postings). You might not have to work on Monday after all? hhh

I bought one ticket. I hit one and the powerball, odds of that are 92:1. I won $4. Now you know why I don't play this rotten game....payouts suck
