Old Aristocrat Slots--- Why??

Hey gang, thanks for all the info. We'll be off to Rincon in a couple of hours and will try to play majority of these older machines and see how it goes.

One comment on Cleopatra. I've seen a lot of these appearing (again) but feel they don't play as well as older ones at the old Showboat in AC. Maybe they have been tweaked but haven't changed the name. Seems that this could be a trend with the manufacturers. Pompeii may fall into this also.

The bonus reels do spin diff on the new vs old cabinet

Not that it make a difference but I got my only HandPay on a new IGT Cabinet, Cleo I as opposed to the old style cabinets without the bells and whistles.. Same with Sun & Moon.. Not 100% sure new or old makes a difference but I do believe Aristocrat pays much nicer all together..

The new ones do have the weird "hiccup" thing. DH calls it the herky jerky, and swears it cheats him out of the bonus.

Haha Michelle! Sounds like my DH who, when he was on this Mystical Unicorn kick a while back, was convinced he could stop the reels to land that 3rd bonus symbol. Thank God he wasn't one of those annoying people who bang on the screen when the unicorns roll by or he'd be a divorced man for sure.

Well first few hours is over thank God. Played lot of old Aristocrat but no real luck. Did get good play on Pelican Pete (Trey), Good,Bad and Ugly, Money Tree and Wild Red Sevens. All in all it cost us $1.50 or more per tier credit which equals out to 70% payback. Obviously no pics of wins. Only played 4 hours. Casino layout is very nice. Room is great. Give er hell tomorrow. Thursday will be 10X reward credits. Did see a lady score over 10K on WW3.

Lot of people always looking for the older Aristocrat slots. Why? longer pay time for your dollar? Lower volatility? Also what time frame do we consider for "older Aristocrat games"? 2001 to 2004? We are headed to Rincon on Wednesday and would look for some of these if I understand their appeal. We have never had much luck on Buffalo nor Pompeii, but have done good on Whitewater and Big Money Show. Thanks for the help.
