@zeus, as far as the hotels go, both properties are really nice. Granted I have not stayed at V/P for at least four years, whereas I last stayed at both W and E within the past six months. But to the best of my knowledge, here are some pros and cons for all four hotels. (This is just about the hotels, mind you, not the casinos!)
Room decor: Wynn and Encore both have a higher level of attention to detail in their interior design, and a more cohesive design vision throughout the properties. Design-wise, Encore rooms can feel a little funereal due to the limited palette. (We'll see what happens with this year's room refresh.) Palazzo rooms have a slightly WTF aesthetic, like, "Oooh, I like this lamp! And I love this little bench! And who cares if they really go together?"
Beds: All four have wonderful beds. I'd say W/E gets a bit of an edge here, because their linens are nicer. They're about as good as a hotel bed can be.
Noise: In my experience you're far less likely to have club noise issues in V/P rooms than in either Wynn or Encore. To avoid club noise, note the location and hours for each club at each property, and keep this info in mind when you book. At Encore, opt for a north-facing room (less view, more peace). At Wynn, go for a golf course view (unfortunately this may count as an upgrade). And always specifically ask for a quiet room with no club noise at check-in.
Food: All four places have great food, if you're willing to pay for it. It's way harder to eat on a budget at Wynn/Encore, or find food at odd hours. And IMO the lower-priced dining options at W/E are not as good as they should be. Then again, my first and only case of food poisoning was at the Palazzo Grand Lux.
Ease of getting coffee: Maybe it's just me, but this is an important issue! Palazzo wins by a mile -- coffee is directly downstairs from the elevators at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Second easiest is Encore (the Lobby Bar is set up as a cafe in the mornings), but they can be a little slow. Third easiest at Venetian (Caffe Presse). Wynn is the loser here; you have to walk around the corner to the Drugstore Cafe, which is a pain in the butt when you just want your damn coffee now.
Random details that may or may not matter to you: Wynn rooms don't have power outlets anywhere near the bed. Drives me nuts -- how am I supposed to plug in my devices? Encore at least has bedside lamps with outlets in the bases. As I seem to recall from doing a ton of laptop-based work in both hotels, both V and P have outlets in the wall adjacent to the bed.
Venetian and Palazzo rooms have a one-step-down "sunken" living room area, which is a tripping hazard if you're not thinking about it or it's the middle of the night. There's a little light in the wall beside the steps to remind you of this -- but for me that's even worse, because it wakes me up (and it's hard to completely block off the light with pillows, etc.)
And finally, though the basic room sizes are all fairly generous, Venetian, Palazzo, and Encore give you a feeling of having more space because they're set up suite-style. As GG mentioned earlier, Wynn rooms are just one big room (though they are spacious). Here's the square footage breakdown:
Wynn: 640 sf
Venetian: 650 sf
Palazzo: 720 sf
Encore: 745 sf

My DH and I only visit Vegas twice a year and sometimes only once. We we usually stop at Venetian, Palazzo / Wynn Encore one time each trip, sometimes twice. Our daily bank roll is $600-$800 (if we are doing ok) per day or less. There is no way we are spending that on any visit as we may stay 2 hours at the most. We play on one card and play together most of the time. I get offers every month from Venetian, Palazzo for 3 nights along with a slot tournament. there are about 2 per month but never seem to fall when we are going. We have never stayed there.

We have never stayed there either. Anyway don/t think that you would have any issues getting comps at either place with your amount of play but it does seem to matter WHAT you play. We get more comps when we play dollar machines. I hope this helps. If anyone knows hot to get room comps at Palazzo without the slot tournament attached please give me some insight.
zeus I wish I had concrete answers regarding Wynn but their Red Card program award tiers are not published. I heard 3000 points per day is a threshold for offers but that is hearsay; 1 point is $1..50 coin in played on slots according to this site... much more if you play VP:

If you want RFB be prepared to accumulate way more points than 3000... my feeling, and it's only my experience is, you'll need to accrue > 5000 points/day for that. That could be way off but my experience is Wynn expects a lot from their players for an RFB comp.
Since I'll be at Wynn next month I'll try to keep notes on my play and let you know how Wynn liked me
Talked to my Wynn host last week and she said Executive Slot hosts have the following rule of thumb:
5000 pts/day at Wynn will earn a comp stay in their Resort Tower
6000 pts/day will score a Tower Suites room
8-9000 pts/day will score RFBL, meaning limited RFB comps, presumably on top of the TS room comp, and will include limo transportation
My host also emphasized that executive hosts have total discretion on this, meaning they look at your play, your win/loss and other factors as a slot player and will comp based on that. She said for example playing long and losing will earn more discretionary comps (haha directed at me!)
She said table hosts may not know this so if you're playing the tables this may not be something these hosts will know.

One final word on my Wynn visit and comps... I did not make the 8-9000 pts/day threshold on my trip last week but, because I lost more than Wynn expected I will be comped RFBL with limo on my next trip... is that a win lol!
It's a win, just not the one we would have preferred.
