My grandma and grandpa had a home on the bank of the Columbia River east of Portland Oregon. Grandma used to put fish in a lobster trap and lower it in the river. The crayfish were very large in those days as no one caught them. She would boil them and serve them with melted butter--they were delicious.
Everybody's taste is different and I was joking @zeus when I said southerners will eat anything. If it wasn't for the Louisiana restaurants, I never would have discovered that I like eating deep fried alligator!
